Curvy women often have a hard time dressing their body shape, here are few tips to help you celebrate your beautiful self!
Dresses
The right dress can really bring out your best asset and make you look leaner. It is absolutely amazing! A classic is the empire waist with a V neckline, which emphasizes the smallest part of the body and elongated the neckline. Some on the women I worked with radically changed their opinion on dresses after discovering how flattering they can be. We went shopping for 1 or 2 dresses and they end up getting 4 of them!
Also, try prints they can be your best allies! A lot of plus size women avoid prints, which is actually a shame because they are an excellent way to trick the eye and bring the focus away from anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Avoid: small prints as you will look bigger in proportion to the print.
Accessories
Statement necklaces tend to be overwhelming for most women except tall women and curvy women. A statement piece will bring some flair to your outfit and balance your curves.
Avoid: small bag, shoes (kitten heels) and jewelry, as they are not in proportion with your figure. On the other hand, if you are wearing a statement necklace, you want to keep, the rest of the jewelry smaller so that there is only one focus in your outfit.
Bra
Every woman needs to wear the right size for bra. It is even more important when you are a plus size woman to keep the girls up and the waist defined. Looking for a great place for bra fitting, visit bratenders.com .
Jeans
Keep your jeans in a darker wash for a slimming look. I usually recommend a boot cut to balance the tights and the top half of the body.
Looking your best is about understanding how to play up your best assets and celebrate your true beauty, regardless of your size. So for the curvy ladies who think they can’t look good now, please keep this in mind. And remember, prints – the right ones – are your best friends.
